Keyword software: This software
will spy related competitors' web pages to find out what keywords
or phrases they are using to obtain top ranking. WebCEO software
offers suggestions based on analysis of the top 10 competitors,
which is based on the idea that most potential customers only look
at the first 10 results of a search done on a search engine ("Keyword
Research" 1.) The software uses three steps to analyze
keywords for small business. First, based on keywords used to describe
products sold on a web page, the software finds other top web-sites
that use the same keywords. For example: a company wants to sell
baby clothes online and would like to use "baby clothes"
as a keyword. They will find that twenty-two web-sites use this
keyword. At the same time, a list of these web-sites is created
(see Figure 1). At this time, based on the keyword, the software
will suggest other popular keywords. Second, the software finds
the rate of daily searches of the keyword at a search engine. "Baby
clothes" was searched 2,208 times (see Figure 2.) The effectiveness
of the keyword is judged, as well as a total number of sites found
that compete with the same keyword. Third, the keyword software
helps the IT staff by showing them the using the top 10 competitor
and their page ranking (see Figure 3). The three steps will help
a company find the weakest keyword that a competitor uses, and help
select popular keywords that potential customers will use to find
the company's web-site.
